Important Customer Information
Frequent questions
Do you buff or wax the floors after the cleaning?
No. Hardwood floor cleaning is only a removal process. We use a specialized machine for this process. Buffing and waxing are maintenance procedures from a bygone era. Wax is a poor quality wood floor protectant in comparison to urethane products. The notion that you need to apply a wax to protect a urethane wood floor is bad advice and public knowledge.
Will this change the color of my floor?
Cleaning does not affect the surface of your floors unlike sanding. To alter the color, the floor must be sanded using a different process. Although we do not offer this service we can provide referrals.
Cleaning versus sanding/refinishing…
Re-sanding is what most people associate with home maintenance of wood flooring. The process removes all existing urethane coatings. Compared to cleaning, this process requires several days to complete and typically homeowners to vacate the premises.

cleaning

recoating
Removal of scratches on the surface of a floor without total coating removal. A new coating is applied to the surface.
sanding
Removal of surface coatings throughout a wood floor. Requires several days out of the home.
